The Role of Music for Me During Covid-19
Written by rockSTAR Kaelyn
Hello MCP Family, it’s rockSTAR Kaelyn here!
I’m so excited to connect with you all through this post and I’m here to share about the role that music has played in my life, and more specifically, while COVID-19 has been around. As many of you already know, music has always been part of my journey and I have always loved it. But since COVID has been around, I have been listening to music almost constantly. Music has been such a comfort to me recently. In the midst of a lot of changes happening around all of us, music has been my constant, and it is a constant that I am so, so grateful for.
While we have all been staying home more, I am still recovering from surgeries and keeping up with exercise is an important piece in my recovery. Music helps me a lot while I’m doing my exercises. I deal with chronic pain all day everyday, but when I’m working weak muscles and trying to build strength, my pain levels really elevate and music is my perfect distraction during times of exercise. Listening to the melodies and the voice of whoever is singing provides me with relief from some of that pain, allowing me to tolerate exercising for much longer than I otherwise am able to.
But music plays a huge role in my life even when I am not exercising! I find so much joy in it , and I love having it play in the background while I am writing (yep, I even have it playing right now), while I am doing any kind of craft or creative project, and even while I study, just to name a few! And the MCPConnects episodes are so much fun to watch! Throughout quarantine, the time I spend watching the MCPConnects episodes really does brighten my days!
I have considered music to be a great blessing in my life since I was a little girl, and I know I will never see it as anything other than that.
I look forward to connecting with you all again very soon!
With all my love!
