Meet Francesca and her family as we share her inspiring rockSTAR story and how Melodic Caring Project has provided healing from “across the pond” – proving how love, connection, and community can illuminate even the darkest times and remind us all of the healing power of music.
Francesca’s journey is a testament to resilience and the power of community. Living with a long-term chronic illness, she has faced challenges that many can’t imagine. But through her connection with the Melodic Caring Project, she’s found a unique source of support and joy.
The Melodic Caring Project brings music to those who need it most, providing mental and emotional support through live-streamed concerts, Music Therapy and personalized therapeutic experiences. For Francesca, these moments are more than just entertainment; they are a lifeline that fosters connection, healing, and hope.
“I was no longer able to do everything that I knew and loved, leaving me to feel isolated and alone.” – Francesca, rockSTAR
After 3 years of connecting “virtually” through MCP’s Music Therapy and support programs, our Melodic Caring Project team traveled all the way “across the pond” to the UK to meet rockSTAR Francesca and her family.
It was one of the sweetest moments to be able to meet in person, hugging as dear friends, a testament to the deep connections forged through music and support.
It was a celebration of resilience, hope, and the incredible impact that community can have, no matter the distance, proving that even across the pond, music and connection can bridge any gap.
Some of the most powerful aspects of Melodic Caring Project are the relationships we build with our rockSTARS and families.
Music has always been such an important part of Francesca’s life. From dance to singing and playing flute, her life was always upbeat and full of song. This drastically changed, however, at the age of 12.
In the beginning of 2007, Francesca’s health suddenly and rapidly deteriorated, leaving her lifeless, isolated and a “shadow of [her] former self.”
Despite her isolation, over the past 3 years, Melodic has been able to provide ongoing connective and therapeutic experiences bringing hope and joy to Francesca.
And even though we’re on the other side of the world from each other, with the help of technology, we’ve formed a lifelong bond and friendship with Francesca allowing her to find a community of support and bring the healing power of music and personal connection to her bedside.
Our time with Francesca was truly unforgettable, filled with laughter and tears as we captured her inspiring #rockSTARstory.
One of the standout moments was a heartfelt in-person concert featuring MCP Co-Founder, Levi Ware and Music Therapist, Katie Conder.
You could see and feel the sense of peace, joy and togetherness it provided – reminding everyone of the healing power of music.
Another highlight was providing the opportunity for Francesca to share her passion for public speaking on UCB UK, a Christian radio station. This opportunity allowed her to connect with a broader audience, sharing her journey and inspiring others facing similar challenges.
“It’s amazing to me how music can comfort and reach you even in the hardest of times. Melodic has provided such a safe space for me to explore and process my chronic illness journey. It’s brought healing I didn’t know I needed.” – Francesca, rockSTAR
